Seniors! Don’t forget the early deadline for graduation applications is this Friday!

If you submit a Spring 2013 grad application by Friday, Dec. 7, you will receive an email from me by Jan. 11 letting you know whether or not your schedule for the spring looks good. This will guarantee you have time to rearrange your Spring 2013 schedule, if needed.  You may also want to consider making a face-to-face appointment to review your remaining graduation requirements.

Please refer to my previous post for more information about the graduation application process: https://courtneyccasadvising.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/attention-graduating-seniors-time-to-turn-in-those-graduation-applications/

Attention Graduating Seniors: Time to turn in those Graduation Applications

Graduation is just around the corner!

Did you know that you actually have to apply to graduate?

The Graduation Application must be turned in to Phillips 107.

Where to get the application:

Download from the registrar’s website (https://registrar.gwu.edu/sites/registrar.gwu.edu/files/downloads/applicationforgraduation.pdf ) or come by Phillips 107.

Where to submit the application:

Turn in the completed application to the front desk at Phillips 107 during regular business hours or fax it (202-994-6213).

Who should submit a graduation application for Spring 2013?

Any student who will finish all outstanding requirements for graduation in the Spring 2013 term.

What if I want to graduate in Summer 2013 but want to participate in graduation ceremonies in the spring?

Still complete the graduation application, but be sure to indicate you are applying for Summer 2013. To walk in Spring 2013 commencement & CCAS Celebration  (i.e., participate in ceremonies, be in the graduation book, wear a cap & gown, etc.), you must have 9 or fewer hours remaining to walk at the end of the Spring 2013 term, and you must finish any outstanding hours/requirements in Summer 2013. Make sure you check that little box on the application that asks if you wish to “walk through” the commencement ceremony preceding your graduation.

If you are a summer graduate and would like to review your graduation requirements, please make an appointment with me. Because you are applying for summer, not spring, you will NOT receive an email from me prior to the beginning of the semester.

All the best as you prepare for this exciting transition!
